Fresh Choice

Today me and Lily went to Fresh Choice with Eli because they gave us a $100 gift card!! We went to get supplies for the care packages we are making for homeless people for our community service on the William Pike challenge. We spent $195 on dog food, baby food, tuna, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, pads, tampons, hand sanitizer, nuts, raisins etc. For the extra $95 we used the money we raised from the bake sale. We still have around $150 left and we are planning to buy blankets, gloves, hats and other things that will keep them warm during winter. We can't wait to see their reactions when we give them all the stuff!

Here are some photos of us shopping:

This is us with all the stuff when we were in line to pay

And this is us with the lady at customer service when we got our voucher

Jack

Everywhere I looked were dead bodies, I know that we are supposed to be “tough” soldiers and not care about people dying all around us but when I saw my best friend lying there, dead in the field of poppies I couldn’t help it. I dropped down to my knees and leaned over him, we had known each other since we were 3, we grew up together and I never thought I would see this day so soon, he’s only 19. I started to cry. It was over. I was never going to see him again but I had to be strong. Goodbye Jack, I'll love you and miss you forever.

Math From Wednesday

Today I only did 10 minutes of math because I had girls group. I got given a small sheet that said something like this: Some kids are raising money to build a sand pit for their passion project, they needed 3m per side of the square and each metre cost $6 how much will the edging be?

This is how I worked it out: 3 x 4 = 12, it was 3 x 4 because they needed 3 metres on each side and there is 4 sides. Then I did 12 x 6 = 72 because it $6 per metre. So it was $72 for the edging.

The next question was: The sand for the sandpit is $5 per square metre. How much is all the sand going to cost? Hint: work out area of the edging.

This is how I worked it out: Each side of the square are 3m so i did 3 x 3 = 9 then I had to do 9 x 5 = 45 because there 9 square metres and each square metre costs $5 so all together the sand costs $45 and all together the edging and the sand is $117

Adrenaline forest

On the on Wednesday last week some kids in our class went to adrenaline forest. It was really fun, me and Maiah started on level 2 then decided to go onto level 5b because we thought that it was a good idea, it was so scary and it was up soo high up in the trees. After we finally got down we went on level 3b which was much much easier than 5b! Overall the trip was so fun and I would love to go again

Math scores

Today I got 100% in 5 minutes and 48 seconds.

That's my score chart now.
My goal is to get 100% in under 5 minutes.
Next week I might try the division one.
I like doing these tests because I have improved so much and I think it's a really good way of learning my timetables.
